All Islands in the Hauraki gulf are pest free and precautions must be taken to ensure they remain this way.

To save any hold ups repacking luggage on the day, please ensure you read, Print and distribute to your group or school, the attached Bio Security information to ensure the Bio Security criteria is meet before going on to the Island.

Health & Safety on Board

We take Health and Safety seriously on board our Vessels.Our vessels are fully Licensed by Maritime New Zealand and we comply with all current Health and Safety legislation. Under the Health and Safety Act passengers are required to abide by all lawful instructions given by the Master and Crew on board.  Please take care on board, use the handrails where provided, be aware of steps and uneven surfaces, listen to the Safety announcement and make yourself familiar with our safety procedures that will be outlined by the Master before the Vessel departs. Cautionary Note: When loading luggage for overnight trips, hatches may be open for loading which may pose a risk where someone could fall down a hatch. Group organizers must ensure passengers do not board the Vessel until the luggage has been loaded, hatches closed, and the Master gives the ok to board. When loading and unloading there is a small step to over the water to get on and off the Vessel. School groups must ensure there are adults stationed at the entrance / exit to the Vessel to help kids across. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing (No high heels or stilettos) and don’t forget sunblock if it’s a hot sunny day. Under no circumstances is anyone to Jump overboard. This is not only dangerous but will most likely lead to prosecution. Passengers must stay inside the rails at all times and are not permitted to sit on hand railings or stand on the seats. Children must not run around on the Vessel and Schools groups must ensure there are Adults in all areas with the School children at all times. Passengers must obey all signage on board and not enter restricted areas.  We want you to have the best possible trip with no incidents or accidents. If our crew is concerned about passenger safety, they will terminate the charter.

Conduct on board

Children on board must be accompanied by an adult. For school groups please ensure that children remain seated, there is no running while on board and that there is complete adult supervisions at all times between the upper and lower decks.

Departure Point

The Red boats Vessels depart from Z Pier Westhaven Marina 31 Westhaven Drive ~ unless other arrangements have been made.

We can pick up and drop off at other wharves by prior arrangement (Extra Charges Apply) this is by prior arrangement only cannot be arranged on the day.

Parking

Pay by plate parking is available and Pier Z. Parking costs $4 per hour or $32.00 for the day. Please pay attention to signage to ensure you are parking in the correct area (white lines) and paying the correct fee. Further public carparking is available further along Westhaven Drive at NZ Marine between the white lines and is just a short 700m walk up to Pier Z, this is free on weekends and Public Holidays.

The Red boats accepts no responsibility if you choose to pay for less and receive a parking ticket if the boat is running late. Parking is your responsibility; The Red boats accepts no responsibility for customer parking.

Terms of Trade

All Safety instructions and Health and Safety requirements must be followed at all times. Charter times are based on booking start and finish times. Extra time will be invoiced at $250.00 per hour. Deposits are not refundable and must be paid within 7 days from the date of booking. Full Payment must be made before the trip date. All rules apply as laid out in this e mail.

Cancellation Policy

All our cruises are designed with your safety and comfort in mind. In the event of bad weather, the Skipper at his discretion may cancel the Charter in the interests of Passenger safety. If we cancel your charter due to bad weather or a break down, we will give you the option to have your deposit refunded, or of re booking a new date for your charter. If you cancel the charter for any reason within 7 days of your charter your deposit and any monies paid are not refundable and the charter is not transferable

Covid 19 Policy:

The Red Boats operates within the current guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. our vessels are cleaned and sanitized daily, and we provide hand washing stations and sanitizer on board for customers. Social distancing, face masks & other measures may be required on board depending on the Alert level status & Ministry of Health Guidelines in place at the time.

Covid Lockdowns & Cancelations:

We will endeavour to proceed with your charter providing we are permitted to operate under any Covid restrictions that may be in place at the time. In the event of a lockdown, or the Charter NOT being able to proceed due to Covid, alternative Charter dates will be offered. We will do our best to ensure we find you an alternative date when Covid restrictions will allow us to operate. The Red Boats do not offer refunds for any charters cancelled due to Covid 19 or Lockdown restrictions. All monies paid to The Red Boats are Non refundable.

Payments

To ensure that your booking is reserved, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit or 40% of the total amount is NOW required to hold this date.
Deposits are non refundable once paid and can Not be transferred to another date.

Our preferred method for deposits & final payments is by direct debit to our bank account, or you can pay your deposit by credit card through our website. We will only hold your booking for 5 working days without a deposit being paid where we will then release the date for other customers to book. Full payment for the trip is required 14 days prior to the charter. Payments not made within this time may result in your date being re booked by another group and forfeiture of your deposit. Bar Tabs can be settled on the day at the end of the cruise, we will hold a credit card for security when running bar tabs.

Important: When paying by direct debit please ensure to put the name you booked under as the payee, the charter date as the code and your invoice number as the reference. This will enable us to find your payment easily and avoid booking over your trip. The balance for the Charter must be paid 14 days prior to departure. Your trip will be cancelled if payment has not been made within this time frame.

We can process credit card payments for the Boat trip, Credit cards incur a 3% processing fee.
