Whether you are going to lay on the beach and enjoy the sunshine, take a guided tour, go camping, or be part of the conservation effort, Motuihe will be the perfect destination for you.

The Red boats provide Ferry transport for groups wanting to travel to any destination in Auckland.

We regularly take trampers and harrier clubs, to Rangitoto Island, as well as School groups and Companies to the Camp and outdoor recreational center on Motatapu Island.

We also offer a Ferry service for carbon conscious companies and groups who are wanting to do Tree planting & Volunteer work on both Motuihe and Motutapu Islands.

We have 2 Vessels licensed for 60 passengers and 110 Passengers (170 combined) for Ferry transport to any destination around the Hauraki Gulf.

We can cater for day trips to Rangitoto or Motatapu Islands or a transfer to the Outdoor education camp at Islington bay for overnight trips or a longer stay.

We have plenty of room in our cargo hold for all your luggage and camp equipment.

One of the more popular trips to do is to be dropped at the wharf on Rangitoto Island, walk to Islington bay and re-join the Vessel in Islington bay.

Ferry Transport to the Hauraki Gulf Islands

We are extremely flexible with any options you wish to explore and you will find our prices the best value for money in Auckland.

We operate a regular service for tree planters to Motuihe Island in conjunction with the Motuihe trust and can look at any other Ferry Transport on request.

For groups who are having an event at The Wharf event centre in Northcote, we can provide a direct Ferry trip to the Restaurant, or a small 1 hour party cruise for pre-event drinks before dropping you at the Wharf.

The prices for Ferry trips starts from $20.00pp depending on where you are going, and the amount of passengers.

We operate from Pier Z Westhaven marina and can operate from other Wharves around Auckland by prior arrangement.

Our Vessels are licensed by DOC to visit Department of Conservation Islands and Wharves. We run a Bio security system on our Vessels which meets the criteria for Island bio security. For more information see the Treasure Island page on the Doc website

 

School Trips Auckland

We have 2 Vessels licensed for 60 Passengers and 110 Passengers (170 Combined) to transport School grouops to Rangitoto, Motutapu and Motuihe Islands.

The Red boats Vessels are set up for School groups with safety procedures in place and a large cargo hold that has plenty of room for all your luggage.

We have operated School trips to the Auckland Hauraki gulf Islands for over 15 years and have the experience and reliability to ensure your transportation runs smoothly.

We can cater for a day trip to Rangitoto, Motutapu, or Motuihe Islands, or a transfer to the Outdoor Education camp at Islington bay on Motutapu Island making a great day out for educational projects or wider living weeks.

The Red boats also Transport Schools to Motutapu Island and Motuihe Island to undertake Tree Planting, Conservation, and Volunteer work.

We work closely with the Motuihe trust in coordinating transport for Volunteer work on Motuihe Island and run a regular Ferry service to Motuihe in conjunction with the Motuihe trust.

Probus/Senior Groups

Both vessels are safe, sturdy, traditional New Zealand Kauri built vessels with warm roomy saloons and unobstructed views.
Our vessels are fully compliant with safety requirements and are licensed for up to and over 60 passengers. We have 14 unique tours for your RSA, Probus, or Travel Club. An informative commentary is given during all our cruises with friendly personal service as well as free Tea & Coffee with snack biscuits.

We also have lunch menus available or you can BYO* on our Cruises.

These cruises are priced for weekdays only and a minimum charge of 30 passengers is required.

Island Full Day Charter

Our Island day cruises depart Auckland and Cruise firstly out of the inner Waitamata Harbour to the sheltered waters of Islington bay between Motutapu and Rangitoto Islands. Once at Islington bay, we drop anchor and have either your own BBQ, or one of our fantastic Catered Meals and an optional swim off the Vessel. After lunch we then up Anchor and Cruise to one the beautiful untouched Islands of the Hauraki Gulf such as Motuihe, Rakino, Motutapu or Rangitoto Islands. Once we arrive at an Island of your choice, we then drop you ashore where you can either enjoy some games and activities on the beach,

or just relax in the Sun on the beautiful untouched beaches of the Hauraki Gulf’s Treasure Islands.
Note: The Islands we stop at may be changed on the day depending on the weather. Due to length of this cruise It is a condition of travel that you must spend time ashore at the Island we stop at. We will sell you some beverages to take ashore with you for the time your on the Island however due to our license and drinking restrictions on the Islands there is No BYO This cruise can be weather restricted in which case destinations may be changed on the day.
